Pacific Yew Live Edge Half Log

This wood is salvaged and was cut 2-3 years ago. The wood dried substantially in log form and while some turning blanks are completely dry, others will have residual moisture. We have cut out most of the knots. Live edge blanks contain inclusions and many checks (please see photos). Square edged blanks may have an occasional check. All blanks have been wax sealed. Box heart is present in some of the bowl blanks and occasionally a black line can develop into a ring shake. This is an exceptional species for turning! It’s extremely easy to mill, glue and turn, yielding a high natural polish that is sure to please all turners. This piece has checks, inclusions, and splits. Please see pictures for details.
