Kanista Burl Lumber

Kanista is a unique tropical species from Central America. The tree produces an egg shaped fruit that is wonderful for the human immune system and vision. The wood is dense and the burl has beautiful grain patterns, figure and eyes. Checks, inclusions, voids, and live edges may be present and are not considered defects. This rare hardwood burl is ideal for small, fine woodworking articles such as knives, pens, jewelry boxes, wood bowls, and more. This has been air dried for 4 years. Most stock is dry and ready to use, but residual moisture may be present in blanks over 2.5" thick. This piece has a partial live edge. Please see pictures for details.
