Exhibition Kanista Burl Turning Blank

Kanista is a unique tropical species from Central America. The tree produces an egg shaped fruit that is wonderful for the human immune system and vision. The wood is dense and the burl has beautiful grain patterns, figure and eyes. Checks, inclusions, voids, and live edges may be present and are not considered defects. This rare hardwood burl is ideal for small, fine woodworking articles such as knives, pens, jewelry boxes, wood bowls, and more. This has been air dried for three years as of June of 2024 and may contain residual moisture. This piece has a rough corner and inclusions. Please see pictures for details.
