Collection: Sindora Burl

Southeast Asian Sindora Burl (Sindora siamensis) is an extremely rare find that we've hardly ever carried in stock. This is likely one of only a handful of times that we will have this rare burl in our inventory. These burls yield very gnarly and highly figured grain with a wide variety of brown, golden, and tan colors. Although difficult to turn, it is well worth the effort for fine woodworking, as it shows three dimensional qualities that are highly sought after by fine artisans. The gnarly grain makes the wood almost impossible to split which is an excellent attribute for woodworkers needing to drill and glue small, thin pieces. The stunning, high polish that is possible in this species makes it ideal for all woodworking projects.
