French Ash, Fraxinus excelsior, comes from a medium-sized tree between 60-100 ft. tall with diameters of 2-4 ft. The main trunk is generally straight and smooth with greyish-green bark. The burls, when present, are usually aerial cluster burls spread throughout the trunk. This medium density hardwood is easy to work and glues well. The beautiful golden color and contrasting dark burl eyes create a unique look for many woodworking projects.
