Quarter Sawn, Figured African Afrormosia

Quarter Sawn, Figured African Afrormosia

share
African Afrormosia (Pericopsis Elata) at first glance has the general appearance of Teak. It is, in fact, suitable for many of the same uses however is more workable than Teak and easier on your tools and wallet as well.  The grain in Afrormosia is interlocked and shows ribbon figure when quartersawn.   This interesting west African species has grown increasingly rare. Boards are kiln dried and surfaced on two sides unless noted. We’re offering a wonderful batch of mostly figured boards that are free of knots and defects.  A couple of boards have minor defects that are noted on the individual description.
