African Rosewood or Bubinga (Guibourtia tesmannii), though not a true Rosewood is denser than several Rosewoods. Bubinga has beautiful color and the possibility of prized figure. Colors range from reds and brown to violet tones with interlocked grain that is is very similar to Shedua (which is in the same family).  Bubinga is ideal for tables, bar tops, boxes, rifle stocks, knife handles, pistol grips, and just about anything you want to spice up.  The lumber in this special is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides.

Some boards have planer skip and very minor planer bite as shown in photos. The thicker 8/4 lumber is generally quarter to rift sawn with ribbon striped figure. The thinner 4/4 lumber is insanely figured, cut from an extra fancy grade log.

Quarter sawn. Great figure. Minor planar skip on both faces.
