As Owners of Cook Woods, we're always trying to keep up with the web and our very bustling business. One thing we thought our customers might like is a blog where you can see new things coming into Cook Woods as well as learn a bit more about our business. So, bit by bit you'll see us posting more and more interesting information about exotic woods! We would welcome your comments as we endeavour to make our blog something that our customers enjoy... because that is one thing at Cook Woods that is extremely important to us. We understand that customers like you are what keep our doors open.
So, in this, our first official blog, we thought you might like to just connect a name with a face. We are Chris and Catherine Cook, owners of Cook Woods. We began this business in 2000, newly married, in a small rented warehouse. We are so blessed by the way we've grown since then! We are now in a large facility with several buildings and our own sawmill (we'll show more pictures in the future about our facility). We truly enjoy each day we spend serving our customers and exploring this changing, artistic market that we're in.
Catherine is the main person in our Office and oversees the website and all customer service as well as overseeing employees and the bookkeeping. Chris is the main Entrepeneurial brain of the business, the "idea" man, and the resident wood expert. He cuts all of our special orders, logs, cants, and instrument orders and boy does he have an eye for wood!!! He also travels overseas and does the buying for Cook Woods.
